Authenticity

It has been such a long time since my last Newsletter-Blog entry, please let me know if this finds you thriving?

I have been dedicating my energy into a different direction, and my service to you has suffered in consequence. In fact, I have been working with furry clients, as portrayed with Jordy the Beagle. Yes, dogs are an important part of my life, and I have learnt much of observing them. Dogs are simple. They like another dog, or they don’t. They are quite blunt about this. Not phoney or false. Outright and honest. They are authentic about their feelings.

Yes, and I believe that we need to discuss authenticity, or being authentic.

Have you ever asked yourself if you are authentic? Is your own self being true to you? Have you awakened your soul? Are you yourself? What part of you is authentic?

I would love to offer 2 of you the chance for some life changing coaching.

Especially if after reading this, you feel that you are off track. I don’t take on many clients at once because I want to focus my energies; but those whom I can take on, have so far been able to make outstanding transformations to their lives, and you wouldn’t believe the impact the before and after effect has had on them. I am incredibly proud of all of them, and please don’t be afraid to be the next one to take up this awesome opportunity.

Authenticity

Being authentic
When you reflect on the meaning of “authentic”, what are the first things that you think about?

Real, genuine, original, true, not a copy, unique…
If I ask you whether you are authentic or not, what is your response? Be honest!

Authentic people are highly appreciated. We seek out authentic people in the crowd because we know that they stick to what they say, and they say what they mean, and they do what they say.

Authentic people are true: to themselves and to others.

Be one
Being authentic implies that you are connected to your true inner self, and that you have aligned your values, your beliefs, and your deeds.

Everything from within you, and everything going outside of you are in absolute correlation. You are one with your own self.

Sometimes this involves a painful process of self-analysis in order to find out who you truly are.

Do you understand who you are?
Do you know what your purpose in life is?
Do you recognise your being?
Are you crystal-clear on your emotional processes?

Become you
If you have answered no to any of those questions, then yes, knowing and understanding the authentic you may be quite a challenge.

How can you become your best authentic self?

What counts most in being you is aligning what you think, with what you do, and what you say. Everyone will benefit from this, but most of all, yourself.

The most authentic way of life is, most authentic way of life is live truth.
Yogi Bhajan

Authentic you

Authenticity is also about being in touch with your soul – “I am the light of my soul.” We are light expressed through our soul.

They say the soul is dormant that has to be awakened.

At the Kundalini Yoga teacher training on authentic relationships, we were asked to talk to our souls. Not just to ourselves, but to our souls.

Do you understand the difference?

You are a soul, not a body. The soul lives forever, and because of the soul, your body lives, your body does not live independent of the soul.

In order to know, understand and comprehend who you are, you have to establish a link with your soul. Yogi Bhajan says:

Have you ever understood why the soul took the human body to begin with? Just to eat? Soul doesn’t eat. Just to take bath? Soul doesn’t take bath. To have a physical intercourse? Soul doesn’t do intercourse. What soul does? Soul is a part of the infinity or you call it God. Soul seeks friendship with that infinity, with that God. It’s a longing in us; it’s a feeling in us. In spite of everything we have got and everything we can get we are not secure.

The soul is your connection to God, your connection to the universal truth.
The authentic you is inside of you – and has been all along.

Meditation Affirmation

Yogi Bhajan shared many profound mantras and affirmations. One incredibly empowering affirmation in English is the mantra:

“I am the light of my soul. I am beautiful. I am bountiful. I am bliss. I am, I am.”

It has been sung by many vocalists, such as Sirgun Kaur or Snatam Kaur. Find yourself a favourite version of this mantra, tune in, sing, and completely emerge in it. Chant from your heart and with all your might. The effect is very deep.

In Conclusion

Don’t be afraid to awaken your soul. Embrace your entire imperfect beautiful being. The inside as well as the outside. Brené Brown suggests that to be authentic, “we must cultivate the courage to be imperfect — and vulnerable. We have to believe that we are fundamentally worthy of love and acceptance, just as we are. I’ve learned that there is no better way to invite more grace, gratitude and joy into our lives than by mindfully practicing authenticity.”

Be yourself, everyone else is taken.
Oscar Wilde

You are worthy of love.
